About

Who we are

We are independent geoscience & energy professionals passionate about innovation, technology and its application to the upstream E&P industry. We aim to be the go-to consulting solution for managers and stakeholders needing project-specific support.

Our goal is to enable E&P companies to remain cost-competitive by providing a flexible, plug-in resource to expand or enhance their capabilities. We build our reputation on a foundation of trust and respect to develop lasting relationships with clients.

The name “Geomorph” stems from our core vocation, which is to extract and visualise the geomorphology contained within geophysical seismic data to understand the Earth’s subsurface. Geomorph also refers to change. With the energy transition building momentum, it is vital that geoscientists move with the times and adapt to emerging opportunities. We are looking squarely into the future, collaborating with like-minded entrepreneurs and positioning for new business opportunities in a rapidly-evolving energy space. Our passion will always remain in earth sciences and the thrill of exploration and discovery.

Geomorph Energy was founded by Tim Rady, a petroleum geophysicist with over 14 years experience in upstream oil & gas, working with Santos Ltd., Premier Oil plc and French supermajor Total in Australia, Singapore and London. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Petroleum Geophysics from the Australian School of Petroleum (University of Adelaide) and an MBA from the London Business School.

Our Experience

Prior to Geomorph Energy, we have established diverse technical business experience across a broad range of geographies, operational environments, project types, regulatory systems and fiscal regimes. Our knowledge base spans the E&P cycle, from frontier and new ventures to development planning and drilling operations.

We have been involved in onshore to ultra deep-water projects in several geological settings, including multi-phase extensional/rift, intra-cratonic sag, foreland, passive margin and mobile thrust belts. Our core experience is in petroleum systems of Asia Pacific and Equatorial Brazil, encompassing a variety of clastic and carbonate plays and depositional environments, from fluvio-deltaic and lacustrine to marine shelf, deep-water slope canyons and basin floor systems.

Software Tools

We are trained, proficient users of many leading geosoftware applications, including: Geoteric, Hampson Russell, Paleoscan, DUG Insight, Petrel, Paradigm, QGIS, ArcMAP, Kingdom, Petrosys, @Risk, RokDoc, GEOX, Player, Genesis & ProMAX.

We utilise the latest interpretation technologies and workflows to ensure we stay current and are continuously providing the best possible services to clients.

Through versatile software licencing agreements, Geomorph Energy are able to deliver high-end geoscience workflows to meet a wide range of client requirements. We select the right software for the job as the need arises, which keeps our costs down and allows greater agility. These are some of our favourite platforms:

Geoteric provides the best spectral decomposition tools on the market, as well as state-of-the-art automated interpretation workflows and industry-leading algorithms for interactively filtering and enhancing 2D and 3D seismic data.

We use Geoteric in our noise conditioning, seismic geomorphology and fractured reservoir characterisation work.

Hampson Russell Suite is a powerful geophysical toolkit for numerous seismic processing and quantitative geophysics workflows such as AVO analysis, seismic inversion, petro-elastic modelling, Bayesian facies classification and attribute prediction using AI.

Hampson Russell is our primary platform for seismic processing, log analysis and quantitative geophysical projects.

Paleoscan is full-featured, innovative software that interprets every seismic event in relative geological time, producing excellent results in just days to weeks for time-critical projects such as fast-track data and opportunity evaluations.

This technology forms the basis for our automated prospectivity screening workflows and shallow hazard mitigation products.

DUG Insight offers a complete interpretation package for 2D/3D/pre-stack seismic, wells and culture data. Users can quickly deliver on integrated interpretation, from regional studies to field-scale mapping.

Additional modules provide advanced seismic processes and seamless integration with Petrel and Kingdom, cutting time spent on project build and data I/O.

Associates & Partner Network

Through our associates and partner network, Geomorph Energy also offer specialist services, including structural restoration of complex fold-thrust belts, petrophysical evaluation, reservoir engineering, virtual dataroom hosting, asset & opportunity marketing and intelligence scouting.

We can also arrange London-based technical representation for your project requirements where remote working is not feasible. More information coming soon.
